Val Müstair is located in the south-easternmost corner of Switzerland in the heart of the Alps, which means the journey is long - and fantastically beautiful.
For most people, it leads through the Engadine and over the Fuorn Pass (Ofenpass), right through the centre of the Swiss National Park. Hardly any other region can lay claim to such a spectacular arrival route.
By public transport
The Rhaetian Railway takes you to Zernez, where the PostBus takes over and brings guests to the Convent of St John every hour (get off at the Clostra Son Jon stop).
All services run to Malles/Mals and thus to South Tyrol. Mals is connected to Innsbruck by bus and train, which is convenient for guests from Austria and southern Germany.

By car
The routes by car are the same as by public transport. From Landquart you can reach Sagliains via Klosters and by car shuttle train through the Vereina Tunnel. From there, the journey continues via Zernez and the Fuorn Pass into Val Müstair. On the other side of the valley there are routes via Landeck and the Reschen Pass as well as via Merano. Finally, car drivers have a third option for travelling in summer: via the Stelvio and Umbrail passes. This route is long and time-consuming, but uniquely beautiful. Both passes are closed in winter.
