Albertis Room installed

Guest accommodation in the abbesses' suite

Following the death of Abbess Ursula Karl V von Hohenbalken on 5th December 1666 the eight nuns of the Müstair convent elected Dorothea de Albertis, from Bormio, as her successor. Like her predecessor she also set about having her own residence built in the southern gate tower, in 1676.

Gate tower

Nowadays the figures of the Virgin Mary, St. Benedict and St. Scholastica stand on the outer wall of the residence, over the gateway. The parlour has a coffered ceiling with carved rosettes and painted coats of arms. Nowadays the priest who gives the nuns spiritual guidance lives here.
