The listing as part of the UNESCO world heritage does not automatically entail any financial aid. However, the Swiss government has declared its responsibility for the care of these important cultural sites, it therefore is a matter of federal solidarity to support the preservation work. The fundraising is in charge of making these means available.
People who have a special affinity for the convent of St. John have founded the Association of the Friends of the Convent of St. John in Muestair. Through their annual membership fees they help support one of the current projects. A regular newsletter provides the members with information on the progress of the restauration and preservation projects.
Culturally inclined institutions can provide crucial support for the preservation work by providing financing for part of a project. The foundation is happy to advise you in this matter. Also, very welcome are support for scientific research as one of the crucial underpinnings of competent restauration.
