The listing as part of the UNESCO world heritage does not automatically entail
any financial aid. However, the Swiss government has declared its responsibility
for the care of these important cultural sites, it therefore is a matter of federal
solidarity to support the preservation work. The fundraising is in charge of making
these means available.
People who have a special affinity for the convent of St. John have founded the
Association of the Friends of the Convent of St. John in Muestair. Through their
annual membership fees they help support one of the current projects. A regular
newsletter provides the members with information on the progress of the restauration
and preservation projects.
Culturally inclined institutions can provide crucial support for the preservation
work by providing financing for part of a project. The foundation is happy to
advise you in this matter. Also, very welcome are support for scientific research
as one of the crucial underpinnings of competent restauration.
